Perfect purchase! Best in the Beds & Furniture category

This scratching post is everything! When I was about to buy it I tried to balance size, looks and price and this one does it best! It looks and feels very good, unlike some others that look tattered and ugly. I'm 5ft 2" and the top hits just above my elbows so that's a great height for the price! It has a ladder, 2 hammocks, a hidden den, lots of scratching spots, a ladder, a bed and a hanging toy! (I'm also very happy with the dangling toy! I thought it would look cheesy, but it looks really great and it even has a small enrichment bell attached to it.) The top bunk is a separate piece of fabric from the wood itself, giving you a... has super strong resilient bottom to cling to a tree. I took the string toy I already had and stuck the end of her stick between the bed and the tree (as you can see in the photos) and she held it there very well! This is a great option when you want to spice up a tree a bit! If your cats are unstable and unsafe in the fabric hammock underneath, it is also very suitable for storing cat toys! (You can see them in the photo) So it can still come in handy even if your cat is too nervous to climb in! I have 2 cats and this tree is perfect for them. One can climb up and down, scratch and play while the other takes a nap. Probably 6 cats could lie on it at the same time. The bottom hammock, cave cover and top bed are removable (you need to remove the top platform to remove the cave cover) so you can wash them when they get very dirty. There are some difficulties with the screws. The holes were a bit small so it took a bit of effort to actually get the screws in. My biggest issue was that the screw you have to use to secure the cave in place wasn't long enough to actually screw it in (it missed the threaded hole and just fell out no matter how long you tried to screw it to screw). I used one of the longer screws that could catch and screwed it in as tight as I could. He drilled a small hole on the outside with the head of the screw (i.e. made a recess around the hole to allow the shorter head of the screw to go further in. This gave him room to reach the threaded hole and catch it). . There's also a small strap (you can see it in the photos) that you can use to attach it to the wall so it doesn't accidentally tip over, but if you tighten each piece as tight as you can it's already very strong! Once I figure out where I need it forever I plan on securing it as my cats are parkour legends and would probably tip over the fridge if it wasn't secured ๐Ÿ˜‚ (Hanging wicker bed left and hanging toy- fish not included lol I already had them, I think both are from Homegoods/Marshalls.)

Pros
  • GOLS-certified
Cons
  • Largely ok, but...
