Review on ๐Ÿšจ Visible Safety: FlareAlert LED Beacon Road Flare - Yellow by Richard Eledge

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great LED flash for the price.

The device has a very strong magnet in the base for sticking to a car or other metal objects. The amber LED in the device seems bright enough at night for a passing motorist, but during the day it's better to stick with a standard incendiary flare. The Pro version claims to have a 1W LED instead of 1/2W, which will likely make a difference for daytime use. As for the narrow battery compartment, despite its narrowness, the batteries slide easily into the device. I feel like this was designed to keep the device functional even with the vibrations of a collision. If the compartment were looser, the batteries could move, as often happens with a TV remote, and then the user would have to be injured. Ability to get the torch working again. A nice addition would be a strap to pull the batteries out of the box when it's time to change them. I haven't tested how long the device lasts with a fresh set of batteries, but the manufacturer claims 70+ hours in flash mode. I would also like to get a second one and see if the sync feature works. For the price I would say this is a very high quality device, it even has an o-ring to prevent water from entering the device.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Lots of things
