Review on 🚗 Gates 38386 DriveAlign: Enhancing Car Performance with an Automatic Belt Drive Tensioner by Jacob Fish

When the OEM belt tensioner failed I decided on a Gates 38386 belt tensioner and a new Gates K060980RPM high performance V-belt for the famous 95 MERC 4.6L SOHC V-8. The original unit and most replacement parts have a flat tension spring, while the Gates tensioner has a helical tension spring and automatically self-aligns to ensure quiet operation and long life. The Gates 38386 looks very good, built with quality materials. Installation was easy and the belt and tensioner now run smoothly and silently. UPDATE: After 50,000 miles, the belt tensioner is still smooth and quiet. Highly recommended!
