While this is not an original apple pen; no matter! This item works great and even with my old iPad! I often sketch, draw and take notes on various notepad apps during client meetings and this pen ensures my lines and drawings are accurate on a digital device. I didn't have to pair it; just pushed the button and works like a charm! I charged it for 8 hours when I took it out of the box and it lasted for several days (assuming I even turned it off in between when I wasn't using it). Absolutely what I was looking for! You will not be disappointed
