I have been actively looking for a replacement for my Dell XPS15 laptop for a few months. I'm happy to say that my search is finally over with this laptop, it's a game changer! I love my Dell for the aesthetics and build quality, but it lacked raw gaming power; Take Asus Rog Strix Scar-15. Since January 2021 I have tried 7 different laptops. I tried to find the right model, and some of these laptops were even from Asus' own line. MSI's new line has yet to use a 1440p monitor, which would eventually lose performance due to bottlenecks and thinner laptops like the Zephyrus. The G15s are definitely enticing, but they do have downsides like soldered RAM and reduced performance specs, to name a few. Industry-leading hardware (Ryzen 9 5900HX + Nvidia RTX 3080) is nothing short of divine mobile gaming performance. Almost everything under the bottom cover can be customized and upgraded with two customizations for RAM, two for SSDs, and a removable Wi-Fi 6 card! I can add whatever I want to this thing and have already done so, including an extra memory stick for any extra games I want to take with me when I travel. The fans are a bit noisy, but cool very well. There is NO MUX switch on this laptop or even a camera. However, if you're gaming at native 1440p then I don't think the MUX switch is even relevant to you as the GPU will be doing most of the work. unlike a processor. Personally, I don't mind not having a webcam as I can easily use my phone or buy an external camera, but I understand that this can be an obstacle for some. Music paired with DOLBY Atmos is as good if not better than my Dell and Zephyrus G15 side by side. In general, this laptop is for those who want to combine quality with high performance. With a price tag of $2699.99, you get what you pay for. There is another version of this laptop on Revain that costs $1999.99 and comes with RTX 3070 and Ryzen 7 5800H. I also compared it to this side-by-side. In the end, despite the huge price difference, I went with the more powerful 3080 because the 5900HX has overclocking capabilities that the 5800H doesn't have. Performance differences averaged around 7-10% frame rate, so nothing out of the ordinary. I hope this was helpful to those looking for portability, raw performance, quality and an overall great experience!
