I'm using this mat in my home office with an dense area rug. While it's far better than the hard plastic mats that need hot baths, hair dryers etc., to unroll and lay flat, as others with rugs have noted, it slowly slides in the opposite direction of your chair's position. After 10-20 minutes or so, it will move several inches.and needs to be re-positioned. 1st world problem, but still.I tried various grip products to keep it in place but nothing worked. Finally, I placed the file cabinet portion of my L-shape desk on the mat's outer edge--I had wanted to avoid doing this, concerned it might crack or damage the mat but I was desperate to stop the sliding.Not only did it stop moving/sliding, but so far there's no sign of any undo stress on the mat.fingers-crossed. Just something to bear in mind if you're considering purchasing it. The mat is a quite nice overall allowing easy movement of my chair.and was priced at around $40 when I purchased it. Great deal.
