As a kidney stone sufferer I have tried many products to prevent kidney stones. The potassium citrate tablets that most people take are very large and difficult to swallow. I used to choke on them a lot, so I tried to find something to replace them. My doctor prescribed Cytra-K, a prescription powder that I really liked. Unfortunately, a pack of 30 (a month's supply) cost me $70. The actual prescription cost $90, but CVS gave me a $20 coupon. I typically pay up to $20 for each prescription drug, so $70 a month is a lot of dollars. My urologist advised me to try moonstone, which I've recently started mixing with water and drinking daily. Very easy to prepare - just pour into a 16 oz water bottle, stir and drink. I bought a tropical blend and thought it tasted awful (will have to try a different flavor next time). Another side effect I have is diarrhea. not sure why, but it's almost instantaneous. But the price of $23 for a two-week supply isn't bad, so I'll keep using this product for the time being. What I find interesting is that the moonstone.com website sells the product for the same amount that Revain sells it for, but the shipping costs are outrageous so buying here was a smart idea.
