I belong to a generation that has had a phone since I was in school, so it seemed to me that I never needed a watch. But a few months ago I bought an activity tracker that tells the time and now I worry if I don't wear a watch because I've gotten so used to it! So I bought several cheaper watches including this one. When I was a teenager, my father described my style as "middle-aged on a budget," which is still true today. This watch certainly fits, although it's a bit slimmer than I expected, which is a pleasant surprise. I really like all the modes like calendar, alarm clock and stopwatch but what I really like is the preset countdown timer. I like it as a productivity tool. I set it to 20 minutes and take that time to clear my inbox or something. I have a fairly small wrist so I guess the clasp moves easily. I ended up bending/twisting a few links to shorten the band. I'm sure there is a more elegant way to do this, but it worked for me! As some other reviewers have noted, the only thing that's not lacking is the backlight.
