I bought this for use abroad. I think it will be good but I made a few changes to personalize it. Here they are: 1. I cut off all the straps. Aside from being able to accidentally unzip them, they reminded me of dreadlocks! I added a small 1/2 inch split ring to each front zipper. These rings can be attached with a small S-shaped carabiner. This S carabiner attaches to a 3 inch carabiner through the top strap. This way I prevent the top three zippered compartments from opening. It is unobtrusive and fully protects pockets.3. For the two bottom zippers I found a plastic quick release like you'll find on the neck with a lacing on it with a removable flash drive. The plastic connector attaches to two zippers and keeps them closed and closed. It is also unobtrusive and completely safe.4. Another quick release buckle of the same type is attached to the back (belly side) zipper and the aforementioned 3 inch carabiner which prevents zipper chafing. A second 3 inch carabiner attaches to the bottom strap of the bag and is used to attach a small pocket digital camera to the bag for quick access to snaps.
