Great tiny box

Got this because another reviewer said they had a Samsung TV and wanted to hook up some old speakers they had. Well I was in the same boat. I have a 2011/2012 Samsung TV and some give me JBLs that I wanted to plug in and I didn't want to get up every time I had to change the volume. If you have an old TV like me, this might help you. I connected the supplied optical cable (toslink) from the TV's digital audio output (optical) to the receiver. I then connected the aux output on the receiver box to the speakers. I connected everything as described and had the appropriate menu settings, but there was no sound. Well, I realized my TV is so sleek that I had to reset the audio settings and re-select all the menu options to get the sound coming out of the optical port correctly. After all that it works. I love that I no longer have to get up to change the volume. I also like that this box has an IR receiver. I have an f2 sofa loaf attachment for a Fire Stick TV remote, and you can program this attachment as a kind of universal remote. I programmed it to control my TV and my HDMI input box. Now I can also add a volume slider. This box is small, about the size of a bar of soap, and very light. The light on it isn't too distracting, which I really appreciate. UPDATE: I adjusted my setup by turning on the JBL subwoofer. I have an optical/toslink cable going from the TV to the receiver.
