Goodbye Bolt. Without a click, the screw is over tightened and pops

I should have known the thing wouldn't work because I broke the screw in the previous problem. Came back to using this thing after a while and same result. No click on $70 25 ft/lbs broken ball joint bolt. Basically, it cost me money to own this.

Served until now

I have had this key for about 7 years. The first thing he had to do was tighten the towbar bolts and nuts. I now have a Superduty pickup and the mounting nuts should be torqued to 165 ft/lbs. I figured I could hit 150 and then go to the tire shop. I CANNOT set it above 128. It just doesn't work. So, I have benefited from this tool, but future buyers should be careful if they intend to use it to its fullest stated extent.

Very good for most applications

This is a very good torque wrench. This is ideal for leveling the nuts on your car as per your car's owner's manual (94 ft lbs in my case). For things like an oil drain plug, however, the wrench is too bulky to fit inside. Even with extensions. It can only be the ground clearance of my particular vehicle. Great torque wrench. I just want it to be less big. And I get that it's big, because when you're going into foot-pounds, you need extra leverage. Just my chatter. I really wish it was smaller…

Excellent for the price. Seems durable. I have my 6 years old.

The tool is very strong, beautiful and heavy. Supplied with necessary adapters/extensions in a plastic case. I've used this many times when changing a wheel, spinning, working on the brakes, etc. It gets the job done perfectly and makes a very loud and distinct "click" sound when you reach your desired torque. The ratchet head also offers excellent feedback. It feels like a much more expensive tool than it actually is. How many times have I used it, it pays off easily. Setting and setting the…

Perfect! of hand and power tools

Bought this primarily to properly tighten lug nuts after rearranging the tires myself. True, most tire shops offer free spins with purchase, but you still have to get there, wait for service, and risk getting their drums out of tune. With that in mind, a few DIY tire changes will pay off for this torque wrench. I went to my search engine for suggestions on how to check torque wrench accuracy and this one came up within 2 or 3 ft/lb which is certainly acceptable. There's no harm in spending the…

Gorilla Torque Wrench is quality

I bought this here at Revain in August 2012 to first 'check' what lug nuts are for after having my cars for seasonal alignment and got wheel spin. The mechanic always tightened the wheels too much or unevenly to specification. Over the years I have accumulated two sets of wheels for every 4 cars. So I do all my struts, brakes, wheel spins, seasonal wheel changes with this gorilla torque wrench. The blow molding also proved to be excellent. Not only has the tool helped me save money, but more…

Great Wrench - Wrench

I have used it for about 3 months to do a few things like: * tighten the nuts on my GM Sierra 2500 HD * tighten the nuts on my fifth wheel and Toyota Siena * lift off drain and filler plugs on Sierra differentials and transfer cases. It works great, has a solid click when you hit the set torque pounds and has a good click in the ratchet too. The pound setting is easy to adjust, holds great and feels solid. This is a ½" ratchet but it also comes with a 3/8" adapter/extension (the usual size for…

Good key for your money!

Bought as a Christmas present for my son. He intends to rebuild his VW engine so figured he should have his own rather than borrow mine. When I arrived I was really impressed with the quality of the item and for the money I also got a case, extension cord and adapter. Not a bad deal for forty bucks. I had previously looked at a Craftsman torque wrench and this seemed to be more durable. better built. No plastic parts like the Craftsman Of course, the Gorilla doesn't have as great an overall…

Great torque wrench for car enthusiasts

I used to buy a Titan 3/8 inch. Revain drive torque wrenches, had torque settings from 0 to 80 ft lb which I actually broke trying to loosen a car wheel bolt and since the maximum torque on the wrench was 80 ft lb I broke 3/8 fasteners on it because there the wheel bolts from the wheel magazine were very tight, the torque wrench tightened the bolts. That was my fault too, I didn't know you can't loosen bolts with a torque wrench, oops. Compare this torque wrench to the one at 1/2 inch. The…

Very good wrench at a very good price

I am not an experienced mechanic but I do about 95% of repairs myself and have worked with cars for a long time. For a home garage, quality and price are unbeatable. My only (very minor) gripe with this instrument is that the dial doesn't perfectly match the graduations on the handle. But that's not a big deal, because the desired torque value can still be easily set. I bought this wrench to install new input/output nuts on my car's transmission (111 ft/lbs) and it worked great. I also used it…
