My kitten (3 years old) was constantly itching and bleeding, no less near the eye. First I put this cone on him and he lost all will to live for about 3 hours. After that, he began to walk around the house and learned to see with this cone. He started to heal very quickly with the antibiotic ointment he was using to treat the wound, so I removed the cone too soon. I was fooled and he went back to work scratching and bleeding again. So I left it on for 1 week and removed it 3 times a day while eating and cuddling, and to reposition the collar and dry wet, water or food soaked spots. The plastic was easy to clean. Within a week he was almost fully recovered and after a quick bath, which he desperately needed after this ordeal (he smells a bit in there), he was back to his free, loving and playful self.
