You get what you pay for.
When trying to use it to hold canvas I found it was flimsy and easily tipped over. I decided to go back and read the 3 star reviews (3 and 4 are usually more reliable than 5). I see a lot of people buying this for the painting party where they bought it for one time use. I also noticed that it was often bought for children. I wish I could read the reviews first, I'd spend the extra money and get something more reliable and stable.
