Start-X Remote Start

Installed in 2019 Toyota Tacoma, "H-Key" launch on Saturday. The video is helpful for the installation. Written directions are helpful too (unusual) good job! The physical setup was simple. To program, I held down the program button while inserting the spark plug into the module (as directed). Nothing happened, there was no LED activity as stated in the video/instructions. I contacted support via email and expected not to hear anything by Monday. I received a response within 10 minutes of sending my email. It is recommended to check the grounding. Grounded where shown in the video (behind the dashboard plastic) didn't help. So I took it off and put it under the stud but on top of the plastic (away from the dash) which worked. The programming was uncomplicated and the device works great as described. The truck also starts when the door is open. Press the "LOCK" button three times with about half a second interval between each press and it will boot. Press the LOCK button 3 times while driving, the car will turn off. The vehicle will turn off after approximately 20 minutes of operation (approx). A NOTICE. The 2019 Tacoma (mine, at least) has a tire pressure management system (TPMS) connection that requires you to cut the wire and plug in the included connection for the remote start module. The video shows very clearly which wire needs to be cut, stripped and connected to the connectors provided. The wire is very small! I recommend twisting the stripped strands together and then folding the stripped wire in half before placing it in the connector and crimping it. OVERALL I am impressed with the setup time, the responsiveness of the customer support when I had an issue and the performance so far. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
