What I Was Hoping For: Shaving and Hair Removal

I grew up with these types of razors and was a little hesitant to get back to them after decades of using disposables. I clearly remember how I used to shave off layers of skin because my hands were too heavy or I was in too much of a hurry to shave. I didn't want to repeat this but I was fed up with the poor quality disposables I was going through. So I dared. It's heavier than I expected - I've seen negative reviews about its weight - but I find the weight perfect for me. I haven't adjusted the depth of the blade since I received it and I'm using green viking blades. I've used it half a dozen times and shave with just the lightest of touches to let the blade do its work. The only flaw that requires some ingenuity from me is my prominent Adam's apple. It's a little difficult to shave up and down, but I take my time and move carefully. I'm happy to report that I haven't cut myself yet which I can't say about disposables. The shaver is very easy to clean while shaving. Another big plus over disposable items. So far everything is very good. I think this is a great razor, very well designed and finished. I don't really expect how long it will last but I think it will be the last razor I will ever buy. I recommend it.
