I have a wifi adapter but this has always been a problem as when connected to it my phone insisted on running the internet through it to do everything to do what i needed for data disable yadda yadda yadda. Full PITA. So I was recommended the ELM327 which got me here, Bluetooth can be a hassle, pairing to phone first and then pairing to app but it works. Just read the included instructions twice and make sure you've tried everything. I didn't get it right on the first try, but once I figured it out, it works great. I ran it on a '11 Subaru Outback, but since it's the most pressing issue, it's a bit sad because of the timing coverage, I really don't have much to do. We put it in a colleague's 2001 Toyota Camry and it turned out that all it had was code P1135 for the O2 sensor. Many functions can be defined by both your vehicle's capabilities and what your application will do. I rushed to the Torque Pro app and there is so much I'm still trying to figure it all out. It works great with this 'upgraded' adapter (whatever that means, LOL) and I'd have no hesitation in recommending it.
