I love the tactile handle and blade material of this bandknife. I use commercial tape knives and they tend to rust. I stopped washing my blades a long time ago and just scraped off the excess material and allowed the residue to dry, then sharpened before use. This approach kept my cheaper knives from rusting. That was no problem with this simple Amazon knife. I can wash it after work and it won't rust. Very beautiful. I like the feel of the handle and the stiff, straight blade. Although the 8" is slightly larger than what I used, I started using it as my main band knife, mainly because of the handle and lack of rust.
