It worked exactly as I hoped. I used it with iPhone 7+. I haven't skied extremely, but I was able to tighten it up fairly well with the included wrench, and I think it would handle tougher terrain. I used my Apple Watch to start recording. Overall it worked well, but note that the camera view app puts the camera in photo mode, so I was pretty good at switching to video mode without looking. If you don't have an Apple Watch, you'll likely need to remove your helmet to start and stop recording.
