I love this hat and neck warmer. I have a long beard and I usually pull it into my coat. The "scarf" keeps my beard far enough away from the zipper to prevent this. Plus, it has just the right amount of warmth I need. They are well constructed and the fleece lining has no issues coming out. Last used without problems at 7 degrees and strong wind. I found the scarf had enough stretch to pull it up over my mouth and cheeks when needed. The only downside is that I have no idea what the external designation means.
