My dog Rose was diagnosed with Pannis, a genetic autoimmune eye disease, 2.5 weeks ago. She will need lifelong treatment to prevent permanent eye damage and possible blindness. Prescription eye drops are, of course, expensive. I've been looking for natural alternatives to expensive prescription eye drops with a holistic approach. I saw Ultra Oil on Chewey.com but this seller had a slightly better price so I decided to give it a try. It contains two different oils that some naturopathic vets recommend for treating pannis symptoms — hemp oil and fish oil. It also has flaxseed and grapeseed oils, all of which contain omega-3s and 6s, which are good for reducing inflammation (one of the symptoms of pannis). After two weeks, her vision improved significantly. Due to the severity of the mass on her eyeball, I use prescription eye drops once a day along with GenTeal Tears OTC eye drops. However, I believe Ultra Oil combined with vitamin E supplements accelerated her recovery. A large, dark, and cloudy mass grew over her eye, which began as an inflamed dark pigment on her cornea and very quickly (within a month) spread across most of the front of her eyeball. We also saw the same thing begin in her other eye. She became insecure and obsessive. I looked at photos of dogs with pannis on the internet. The improvement that some dogs have experienced after 5 weeks of treatment with prescription eye drops alone, my dog only lasted 2 weeks and now her eyes look great apart from some dark pigment still on her cornea. The cloudiness and dark mass are gone, and her eye is glowing again as it should. The pigment that started growing in the other eye has disappeared. She returned to her happy, normal, spastic self. We have an appointment with the vet in a week. My goal and hope is to get her off the expensive prescription eye drops and continue using this oil blend in her overall treatment plan. Time will tell but for now I'm sure Ultra Oil is making a difference. Good customer service too.
