I bought two of these devices to satisfy my need to actively connect my laptop and PC to many different USB devices and to be able to charge some devices that can be charged via USB. Well I've found this to be a great addition to the tech collection of items I own. These devices allow me to free my desk from clutter and cords because now I can collect my cords in one place and route them to the device (laptop or desktop I want to route information to). This means your external USB drives, scanners, cloud device or anything else you can control or access from your PC or laptop. The nice thing is that you can disable or enable individual connected ports on this USB 3.0 hub. Let's say you have an external hard drive that might have an error and you want to isolate it until you find a solution or are ready to run a scan, but you don't want to shut down the device power-wise. . Just press the appropriate hub button for the drive and disconnect until you're ready for whatever you're doing. The device is now isolated! Overall very happy with the speed and connectivity as well as the extra charging options. 11-Port USB Hub Hub Splitter (7 High Speed Data Ports + 4 Smart Charging Ports)
