My senior cat has kidney failure with anemia, weight loss and low body temperature. Since it was November I did everything I could to keep him warm. I removed the heating pad and washed the bed on a gentle cycle. Semi-machine drying and drying in the sun. I checked the heating as instructed and put the bed on the couch, hoping he would try at some point. He smelled it and got it right, as you can see! I'm overjoyed and I'm sure he'll appreciate it even more when it gets colder. Now he lies on the floor on a small sheepskin for extra softness, since the inside of the bed is not very comfortable with a heating pad.
