Works well, easy to set up and use

Simple but reliable access control system with entry-level wireless keypad/remote/card. Just add an electric strike bar or other access mechanism and it's set to control access to most doors. The keyboard is of better quality than I expected, although it's all plastic with rubber keys. It has a built-in speaker and doorbell function so visitors can alert workers elsewhere that someone is at the door and needs to be let in. You need to buy AAA and CR2032 batteries for remote devices. Also, RFID cards are not included, but can easily be purchased. They work with the 125 kHz type. The small remote control also includes a door contact switch for remote access without a card or code. The exit button allows anyone to open the door from the inside and has a built in LED to signal activation. The control unit allows the use of a wired exit switch as well as a wireless device. It was very easy to install. I simply hooked up 12v to the control board and put in batteries in 3 units and they were ready to go. Programming the codes is easy and the operating instructions are very clear. I'm very impressed with how well it all works in this price range. Obviously it's mostly plastic, but it's reliable and a very good option for basic door access control that's easy to set up and use. Aside from entering the code, the programmable key card feature is really good and I am very happy with this set. In the long run, the biggest problem will be replacing the batteries, so hopefully they'll last a long time in the keyboard and exit buttons that will be wall mounted.

Pros
  • Security and surveillance
Cons
  • No automatic control
