I had surgery last year for a bunion on my foot and my big toe hurts when I wear regular socks. I realized that it was the pressure of my socks pressing my thumb against the rest of my fingers. With two screws in my big toe, it's clear they don't want to pinch it. First I cut a pair of socks and cut a hole for my big toe. Much better. Then I started researching if it was possible to buy socks without a big toe. No, but these socks work the same way. I'm happy to be pain free.
