I rarely write reviews but I am so happy with this coat I wanted to share. Although my dog is not actually a greyhound, he has long legs, body and neck and I knew that ordinary wool would not suit him. He also HATES getting wet. He makes a face like the Wicked Witch of the West as she melts. It was pouring rain today so I tried the coat on for the first time. The coat is quite light so it may not be suitable for the dead of winter if your dog is very thin. I can also opt for a thicker coat. However, the outer layer is waterproof - nothing leaks through, which was the most important thing for me. The inner lining is nice and soft but thin - all wool is like a lightweight waterproof windbreaker. BENEFITS - Really, really waterproof - Suitable for long lean dogs (perfect in my case) - Lightweight for fall - Doesn't interfere with his "suitcase" even when the strap is very close to that area. (I was particularly concerned about having to constantly wash it.) - Non-slip - Won't break the bank. CONS - Doesn't work with a large number of seat belts. The only leash slot is on the collar and will only work if you attach the leash directly to your dog's collar. My suspension has attachments at the top between the shoulders and at the front of the chest that I use. Luckily my leash is low enough not to disturb the landing. I might also try wearing a harness over my coat. Overall I'm very happy for the price!
