This printer has given me problems and I am replacing it too soon after purchase. ran out of ink quickly. Non-genuine cartridges are much worse, so Canon ink cartridges, while overpriced, are worth the extra money. There was a problem in the cartridge holder guide mechanism that would have been serious and too costly to supply. to the repair site, i have checked several repair sites and they make repair prices higher than buying in this area. Luckily, realizing that it would cost more to fix than replacing, I opened it up myself and was lucky enough to sort through and fix it. It worked for a few more months and then a message popped up saying the wrong printhead was installed and needed to be replaced. The!?! I never changed the printhead or anything to get this message and the printer refused to work again. Luckily I found a new printer (with fresh ink) on sale for not much more than buying Canon ink cartridges, so this printer is a dump.
