Warning, this was problematic for me

This printer has given me problems and I am replacing it too soon after purchase. ran out of ink quickly. Non-genuine cartridges are much worse, so Canon ink cartridges, while overpriced, are worth the extra money. There was a problem in the cartridge holder guide mechanism that would have been serious and too costly to supply. to the repair site, i have checked several repair sites and they make repair prices higher than buying in this area. Luckily, realizing that it would cost more to fix…

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Not automatic

I bought this printer because the ink is cheaper than HP or Lexmark. I took great care of it, used it minimally and when it came time to move I put it back in the box so it was well protected. For some reason an error message popped up over a year ago and there was no way to fix it. I checked the manual and couldn't find a solution. I couldn't find a solution on the internet. I was and still am very frustrated that the printer just won't work for reasons unknown. I didn't buy a new one because…

  • Robust design

This printer won't last long and the ink will cost you a fortune.

I wish I could love this printer but I can't. First, the ink is ridiculously expensive. It is very important to research ink prices for any printer you are planning to buy. For the most part, this printer does an excellent job of printing. However, after just a few years I got the "b200 error" which basically means my printer isn't doing anything else. The printer is absolutely fine - nothing broken, no weird noises, no anomalies at all, just this error out of nowhere. I did some research on…

Pros
  • 4" x 6" borderless photo, about 20 seconds. This item requires 5 separate ink cartridges.
Cons
  • Zero

Unusable after 4 years.

I purchased this Canon printer in January 2011 from Revain. Despite contacting tech support multiple times, the wifi never worked even though I upgraded my router and put a "router booster" in the room. Not a big deal and I continued to use the USB port for printing, scanning, etc. This printer uses a lot of ink which if you look at Amazon you can see that it is quite expensive to replace. In the years since I've owned this model, I've replaced the ink cartridges 6 times, although I've only…

Works well. Expensive maintenance

I only got 3 of these, a DOA. Bought one for me and one for my brother and they both work. I've had my own for over a year so my rating is based on home use over that period. First, the printer does its job well. I won't go into too many technical reviews of each feature and really give you a general overview of my experience. However, it was easy to set up, especially when connected to the network. The problem I had was being patient as I wheeled in my network password to find each character…

Stay away from Canon inkjet printers!

The printer crashed with error B200 (Printhead caught fire). I rarely print anything and when I print it's black and white, but this printer eats up all those very expensive color and black cartridges even when you're not using them. This is a big scam and Canon is not alone in this. I bought it for its scan and copy capabilities and sadly gave away my 10 year old HP inkjet printer which still worked perfectly. Now the printer is dead due to a very common and scary B200 error. What a picture! I
