They work very well, the backlight is just right.
This device is a plug-in device that has no motion detection, it lights up when it's dark. To light the guest entrance from the fold-down bed in the living room, I installed two battery-powered motion detectors and one from an outlet that stays on when it's dark. I have an outlet in the bathroom and that's very convenient.
