Review on 🍩 Styla Hair 3 Piece Donut Hair Bun Maker Set - Brown (Small, Medium, Large) by Michelle Carey

Suitable for those who cannot style their hair (like me!)

Let me first say that I am a hair doll. I've never been good at styling my hair. It helps. I have what a few barbers have referred to as "baby thin hair" which is silky and lacks structural integrity/natural volume. I don't have fine hair, but it's not SUPER thick either. My hair is long and just below my bra straps. A friend told me about these "donut buns" that you can style into your hair to make it a little easier. I ordered them yesterday afternoon (Friday) and the next day at 9am the package arrived. Insanely fast delivery. As for the product itself, I'm here with the other ladies when they say the biggest donut should be for insanely long and thick hair because my hair didn't wrap around the whole donut. The medium size is perfect for me. There is a very small one that I am going to try on my little niece when her hair grows longer. The attached photo shows how it turned out on my hair after the first use. I'm still wearing it around the house a few hours later and it hasn't fallen out. I used some invisible bobby pins to hold the loose strands in place (I may only have used 4). As mentioned in some other posts, since the donut is porous, you can stick pins in the donut. As I practice more it gets easier and looks less messy. I first got this casual style because it was easier than the "Ballet Perfection" bun. Hoping to get really good at it and figure out how to straighten the front short hair where it looks nice so I can wear it to work! I work in finance and I bought this partly to give my hair a new super professional style (which I couldn't get on the first try!) a dummy because a year later the thing is still not that easy to try it looks like necessary. Maybe my hair is too long. I wore it to a fancy dinner recently and attached these photos (in a velvet top). Overall, I'm disappointed that it sometimes takes me over 20 minutes to get everything right and not "beehive". My hair is quite long, mid-back, so like I said, those with slightly shorter hair will have an easier time. For me it's like too much hair is overlapping when I try to twist it and tuck the ends in.

Pros
  • Always liked
Cons
  • Infinitely lazy
