Review on Gray Case Logic QHDC-101 Portable EVA Hard Drive Case by Robert Rick

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Perfect for my remote hard drive and me in particular!

I guess I'm like most people. I receive the device and then need a case to protect it. In this case I bought a remote Toshiba Cavino 1TB hard drive. This case is a tough one. My previous cases were soft, with a soft lining. I love the hard case! I read reviews to make sure it fits. I reviewed two Case Logic models and the other was slightly larger and matched the Toshiba Cavino. I read the dimensions on the case. I had to go to the Case Logic website to find out the outside and inside dimensions. caselogic.com. Drive dimensions 4.6 x 3.1 x 0.6 inches. In theory, Case Logic should have had about half an inch of clearance between the drive and the case in this case. However, the shape of the case and the padded zip reduce the internal dimensions to a perfect fit. I left a 1/8" to 3/16" margin between the case and the zipper bead. This case looks like it was made for Toshiba Cavino. Also, my other remote drive is just a soft shell. , without space for a connection cable. There is enough space in this bag in the elastic divider grid that holds the connection cable and could accommodate even more Cables inside the case, the hard case looks really solid and the zips seem to be top notch. I'm very satisfied. The cost was $8 or $9, about 1/3 of the cases I've seen in stores.

Pros
  • Hard drive bags and cases
Cons
  • No performance
