Deep washbasin with deep drain complete

Firstly if needed I would buy this washbasin again. Knowing full well that this is a "inground sink" I bought this for a basement bar to use in a laminate countertop as a sink. In the FAQ section there was an answer from the manufacturer that this should be suitable for this application. It worked well as a slip in but as you will see in the photos the two side edges did not sit perfectly flush with the table top like the front and back. I think the insulating coating on the underside of the sink rim caused it to sit differently on different sides. If it were used as a stand I don't think it would be a problem. I sealed the rim of the sink with 100% silicone to seal the sink and prevent water from getting under it, but it would be easier for me to sleep if it was perfectly level. Another issue I had was that the sink drain that came with it was VERY deep. Since the sink is already 9 inches deep, adding a 4 inch deep sink drain created the problem of properly connecting the trap and draining down the slope. I had to buy a traditional aftermarket drain half the size of the one that came with it (which is a shame as the drain and strainer that came with it would have been great for a bar sink). This isn't necessarily a manufacturer issue, but wisdom when installing a deep sink. Make sure you have enough space to connect the drain. It would be even worse if I actually used it as an undermount sink as that would lower the sink another 1.5-2 inches! Overall, the sink and the accessories that come with it are of good quality as far as I can tell at the moment. I'm happy with my purchase, but a few minor things (like the lack of an insulating cover on the rim of the sink to aid in flush installation and the choice of a traditional or basket drain when purchasing) would have made this a perfect purchase. If in doubt about buying a Torva sink I would say go for it, but make sure the deep sink fits perfectly and is at least 5 inches below the bottom of the sink to allow for the included drain .
