Review on πŸ’» Dell G5 15 Gaming Laptop Review: Ryzen 7 4800H, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD, Radeon RX 5600M, 15.6" 120Hz Full HD Display - A Comprehensive Analysis by Aashit Sharma ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Everything in the purchase suits, a very necessary product.

In general, the laptop has excellent performance, you can both work and play. It looks very nice - neat and tasteful: it shimmers with shiny crumbs in the coating and on the logos like a CD. It's worth noting that not every Linux distribution starts up without problems, so it's worth using something that's the most recent (out of everything I've tried with Arch Linux, the least number of problems).

Pros
  • 1) Solid cooling - the very reason I bought this laptop is this work with a heavy load and the fact that the previous laptop could not cope with this precisely because of overheating. In other matters, this laptop weighs because of this, it is not very pleasant. 2) WVA Matrix (144Hz) - I don't know why IPS is put in the description, but here it is WVA - personally, in my opinion, they are better, but this is a matter of taste. 3) Really good BIOS - it is possible to switch to the "power supply priority" mode, and not spoil the battery. Thank you very much for this, especially since such a computer is usually operated from the network. 4) A good set of ports, both external and internal - 2 m.2 nvme connectors, 2 SODIMM DDR4 connectors (there are two brackets of 8 + 8GB each, I replaced it with 16 + 16GB).
Cons
  • 1) Weight - Yes, the laptop itself weighs 2.5 kg, instead of 2 kg that have already become standard for such laptops; And it is worth remembering that the power supply to it (as much as 240W) is also not a feather. If you have a stationary place of work outside the home, then I advise, like me, to buy another power supply (from the Chinese site, the question is about 3 k. R. at the moment). 2) Battery - only 4 hours of autonomy are declared, in general, a true figure at medium loads (without using a discrete video card), but still not enough. Moreover, this model range supports a larger battery [in this model they put 51Wh instead of 68Wh]. 3) Type-C - in this laptop is very modest, in fact only USB + DiplayPort; Power delivery and even more so Thunderbolt is not supported.
