Overall this is a solid piece and true to size but I found it very dangerous for two reasons. The edges of the wood are underfinished, micro cuts on our fingers until we sanded/used a router to dull the edges. Another big hazard are stairs. The first step is very narrow and there is a lot of elevation gain to get onto the platform (even on the lowest settings). This seems to be a popular design for many towers, so this may pose an issue for many. However, they are also very slippery. We bought anti-slip tape to deal with the spills my son poured out, but unfortunately that tape also scratched his bum on the way down.
