Well this is an AMAZING controller, I've been playing Smash Bros and Hyrule Worriers for about 7 hours today and I have to say that after about 5 minutes I fell in love with this bad boy like to felt at home see i have a gamecube adapter and 4 controllers when friends come over to play smash and i can't count the number of times they've pulled in here or pulled twisted cords there like indiana jones this is of course a Problem as the console is about 10 feet away and the adapter is almost hanging in mid air because we have so little range. Wireless is great and I've tried to emulate this feature with Wavebirds but unfortunately they don't like Wii U and sometimes they RANDOMLY fail and the onscreen remote takes its place, not sure why that happens but this is a serious issue. BUT NOW I can play wirelessly and feel like I'm playing on my GameCube Smash controllers. The quality of this controller really surprised me, I mean it's really sturdy, just the right weight in my opinion and the buttons have a satisfying click. She. What made me really happy is being able to turn the console on and off using the controller, which was a bonus for me, although the power button is labeled "Start" for some reason, which might confuse some. Play some old console games on my Wii U with this controller and I couldn't be happier, I mean it's literally a pro controller with a GameCube button layout. The quality is excellent and so far I haven't had any pop up dead zones like some others have claimed. I hope my new controller will serve me well as I crush my enemies in Crash XD. In conclusion, if like me you are worried about the quality of the controller, don't worry, it performs great, works great, has long range, is a good weight and overall just great. I'm glad I bought this and I will be buying 3 more for 4 players. ---- UPDATE ---- 04/05/2016 Good. now i'm a bit disappointed because i ended up ordering a second controller because i was very happy with the first one and i wanted to play with others wirelessly. Charging, and by that I mean when you unplug it, it turns off. It was something I just had to investigate, so I grabbed my trusty screwdriver and started taking it apart. I'm so glad I did that instead of sending it back because I know I saved myself a headache. turns out that the dam battery is DISABLED. I mean DISABLED, the battery is on the left side of the handle, it's small but easily replaced or upgraded with a larger one like you find for pi or odroid. Just make sure the voltage is the same anyway, this tells me one thing that the quality control Hyper-kin uses is a mixed game, on the one hand you can get a reliable product, on the other hand you can get a product with a disconnected one battery or what I have received. I've heard about it too many times, horrible dead zone on your joystick. I have some advice, don't be discouraged as this product may have some quality control issues. Honestly, it's a solid product and it worked flawlessly for what I'm doing with it. It's a pleasure and overall I'm very happy with his purchase as, say, hyperkin. You need to put a little more effort into the quality of this product, you may think it's a niche market but I swear to you I've seen people so desperate for something like this that they're willing to shell out 2 to 300 New -Wave birds and try to use them as makeshift wireless controllers to play hits so nobody trips over the wires. Yes, the competitive world of Smash and a few other competitive tournament games will always be wireless, but what you've created for us is a way to comfortably play many Wii U games again, just like we're all used to using the Game Cube. And while I know others may not think so, for me the Gamecube/Procube controller is one of the most ergonomic controllers ever. I love it and will keep buying these bad boys until I have 4 perfectly working controllers. However, if there was one small thing I would change about these controllers, I would change the way they charge. Yes, thanks to Android, this mini-USB port is basically in every American's home today. I know for sure that these ports will break after that, to make them unbeatable in the market you need to release a second version that comes with a stand on which you place the controller and the stand plugs into a mini USB port stuck while the controller has exposed pins like and on the wii u controller and it will just sit and charge like that. This holds up much better as there is no friction or force on the controller charging. This leads to an increase in life expectancy, you know. as long as the REST of the controller holds up lol. In general, a good purchase, I do not only regret problems. Thank you for the great idea, which was excellently implemented! ---- UPDATE ---- 4/21/2016 This is my last update and you can see it in the photos I took and analyze its quality. gatherings. The plastic is strong and holds the insides in place well. You can see where the battery is and I had the battery disconnected on my second purchase. I feel the quality has been great so far, I haven't had any issues and my friends love playing these things. I only have two so far, but I plan to get two more for 4 players. They're only slightly more expensive than the Smash Cube controllers officially sold by Nintendo, so it's a really great deal considering the wireless connectivity and ease of use. Not to mention the added bonus of using them on other games, it's just a wonderful experience. Something I found very interesting and wanted to share was when I opened up my second controller and found that the battery was disconnected. I realized that it was just a standard 3.7v Li-ion battery that can easily be upgraded with a much larger battery, now keep in mind that the width of the battery is about 30mm and should not exceed 40 mm, BUT length and height do not matter. I found this little dandy on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Ofeely-1100mAh-Lithium-Rechargeable-bluetooth/dp/B017CTEA0M/ref=pd_sim_sbs_107_8?ie=UTF8&dpID=41%2BFd6i5-3L&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160 % 2C27YP5JTR5J&ref5Z=16M and refRID=16Mand in the assembly replacing the internal 600mah battery with a 1200mah battery but I had to put it inside for diagnostics to seat properly as it's a bit larger as the body it still fits in, I also shaved off some plastic to free up more storage space, but now I have twice the battery life. I didn't think it was absolutely necessary, more like "I want to see if I can" as the battery life is more than adequate at the 600mAh. I also added a magnetic micro USB charging port and a very redneck charging holder which appears to be working but not as well as I had hoped but I am in the process of having a friend 3D print it and to see if it works better. My battle station is almost ready, I will update this review when everything is perfect.
