This bedside table looks good but boy does it need some work. I blame the poor quality control in the manufacturing process. I would also rate the directions as poor as they are difficult to understand and the print is so small that I had to zoom in with my camera to decipher the words. With all that said, the only useful information in the instructions was which screws go on which parts. The rest, however, I could easily explain myself. The build was supposed to take 15 minutes, but it took me 50 minutes due to the issues described below. Problems: 1) Remember that some parts (the narrow board on the back and the horizontal metal parts) have to be aligned correctly. There is a top/bottom and/or front/back for these parts. I was able to figure this out 2) The hole wasn't carved properly/cleanly on one of the brackets so I couldn't push the screw through. I used a puncher to knock out the piece blocking the hole. 3) The upper part is fastened with two screws on the left and two screws on the right. There were two holes on one side, one for each screw. On the other side was just a hole. Did you forget to drill the 2nd hole? I had to measure the good side to get the correct hole position. I then used a hammer and punch to mark where the missing hole should be. I used a drill with a 5/16' bit and drilled the hole myself. I used a file to get rid of the burrs. From all that was said and done, I'd say the bedside table looked pretty good. The photos in the advertisement are a true representation of the actual product. It features adjustable legs to keep it from wobbling. He feels strong. I would feel safe putting a lamp on it. If it weren't for the problems, I would have no hesitation in recommending this bedside table. However, I won't be urging people to avoid it either because the composite product was pretty good. Just be aware that if they're all like this, you'll need the tools above (along with the knowledge and experience of using those tools). Minus two stars for terrible production quality control. Otherwise it would have been a five star rating.
