The light has 3 different lighting modes, which is good for different videos or photos. You must keep the entire stand connected to the wall for the light to come on. So to use the ring light you need to be close to the plug. The phone holder and stand are sturdy, and the entire stand and ring lamp are small enough to fit in tight spaces but large enough for personal blogging and photo shoots. I only gave 4 stars because I expected the ring light to be bigger.
