Review on Scotty Small Vessel Safety Equipment by Tommy Hilmy

The reason I'm not happy with this kit is the flashlight. This is a rotating on/off indicator and with batteries installed the light will not go out unless the cover is almost completely unscrewed. If you need to use it in an emergency, there is a chance the batteries will run out because the light will turn on by itself as the number of "turns" required to turn it on and off is very small. And I don't want to put batteries in a flashlight when I need light. I've tried turning the batteries over for storage, but the flashlight works with the batteries installed the wrong way round. I know this isn't an acceptable alternative, but I've been experimenting and looking for a solution. The rest of the kit is ok but a good weatherproof flashlight is essential and I would pay more for a flashlight with good light.
