Generally good work boots. It took a few days of leg pain before it broke. After breaking, it is very comfortable. I chose to remove the thin footbed for the Timberland Pro insole which I purchased through Revain as the previous reviewer did. The included insole is of poor quality. Carhart could improve there. The outsole is a flexible rubber that promotes traction on slippery surfaces and also allows you to absorb shock while walking. Overall I recommend to those looking for comfortable boots for all day use. Update: After a year of heavy use these boots are still holding up pretty well. I only treated them once with waterproofing agent. I rinsed them off with water and spent a whole day with them on concrete. The inner fabric is frayed in the toe area. The Timberland insoles are still like new and make this book comfortable. Overall I would buy these boots again. Even after soaking and drying in the shoe dryer, the leather remains supple, with no tears or cracks.
