I bought this and some 2.1mm to 2.5mm adapters and a 10A power supply to reduce the number of power cords that required to connect my 6 external hard drives to a wall outlet. hard drives. Each of my heads required 1.5 amps, so with this setup I only needed a 9 amp or larger power supply. This eliminated 5 extra power cords from my power strip. I've been using it for about 4 months now and it works great.
