I have other shelves similar to this one but there are a few differences. (1) They are lighter than my other racks. This might seem like a downside, but it turns out they're strong enough to hold just about anything I want to put on them. (Documentation lists up to 44 pounds per shelf.) And the lighter weight makes them easier to move around when needed, as well as easier to assemble and disassemble. (2) This includes plastic mats for each shelf. You don't have to use them, but the mats prevent things from falling or sliding on open shelves. This isn't a big deal if you're storing boxes, but if you have smaller or irregularly shaped items, rugs can come in handy. These shelves are easy to assemble. even if the thought of an IKEA piece of furniture makes you want to. You have a lot of flexibility in adjusting the spacing between the shelves. So if you want them to be the same distance apart, or you want to vary the height of the shelves to accommodate different items, either way you're good. It seems like we need more and more storage space and these shelves are an easy way to add practical storage to a pantry, closet or any room.
