Outdated and most of them are buggy; a good speedometer is preferable for a stationary bike

In short, the only advantage of this particular speedometer over almost all other similar devices is that its calibration setting corresponds to a much larger circle of rotation in millimeters. This is only important if you want to install it on a special stationary exercise bike as a replacement for a broken normal speedometer. Again, this upgrade only takes place if the sensor is to detect the rotational speed of the drive HANDLE; and not the revolutions of the driven wheel. In such cases, when calibrating the setting, a very large "wrong" circumference must be entered (usually at least twice a nominal 26-inch tire). Most digital speedometers will not accept circumferences greater than 3999mm. than is needed for the largest wheel size bicycle, but slightly less for the modification just described. , which I declined after receiving (and returning) three defective units with completely dead displays. Suspecting that the batteries that came with them might have expired, I tested all three defective units with fresh, locally-bought batteries. a previous Dashboard 100 for my mountain bikes. While it wasn't wireless, it was extremely accurate and just as reliable. My only issue was that his handlebar mount wasn't secure enough for off-road use, ie. oo easy to get lost in ignorance somewhere along the way; be it on uneven terrain or after an accident. This later (wireless) 300 model has the same handlebar mount as the 100 model, perfect for a road bike. And I've found another suitable use for it, which is upgrading my specialized stationary exercise bikes. For about the same current price as the 300 dash, you can now get a different brand, more advanced speedometer model that includes a backlit display and display. temperatures too. And the more advanced models aren't much larger than the Dashboard 300. Only use a handlebar-mounted speedometer for off-road riding unless its mount uses Velcro. Otherwise you will lose somewhere along the way. Dashboard 300 professionals: Just one; Its calibration is better suited for retrofitting most exercise bikes, arm bikes, ski machines, elliptical trainers, etc. than most other speedometers. Dashboard 300 Cons: In my experience 3 out of 4 new devices are dead. No display backlight. No temperature display.
