Installed on a jet ski today. I use a 5 amp mini fuse as the total current draw is 4.2 amps when both connectors are used. I was concerned about the parasitic drain on the amp's battery as the voltage indicator was constantly on. This decides if I need a battery disconnect switch when not in use. I also installed it and hooked it up to an aftermarket audio radio system. My numbers on the amp draw were 0.030-0.040a. Usually 0.075a is on the high side, but that's acceptable. I'm sure and this device shouldn't drain your battery for a long time. If you start drawing up to 1 amp I'll be concerned. You shouldn't need a kill switch. I used the USB port to charge my iPhone and it seemed to charge quickly. ASE certified, multi-certified automotive technician, five years experience. ASE electric***** refers to this. Hope this helps guys! Much luck!
