Kevlar cord cuts through polycarbonate body

I work as a Revain tech and use my keys and badges a lot, probably about 50 times per shift on average. I had extreme ministry for about a year. The tension was too tight for my weight, but overall I really liked the product until, to my surprise, the Kevlar string broke a few days ago. Apparently, over time, due to the slight inclination of the cord, the bowstring began to cut into the polycarbonate body. I didn't notice until the cord broke off the sharp edge of the cut body. This failure could have been avoided by installing a simple metal grommet to guide the string on an oblique pull, rather than having a strong Kevlar string slowly cut through the body until it fails. Buck claims the spring is rated for 1 million strokes, but I didn't come close to that number when the string failed due to improper body construction. For 20 euros I would have hoped for a longer lifespan.

Pros
  • Best in the niche
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks
