Review on πŸ‹ OXO Good Grips Citrus Zester & Channel Knife Combo by Leah Ramirez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Sharp blade, non-slip grip, ideal for right-handers

For several years I have worked to acquire bar tools in order to have a fully stocked bar. After making messy lemon curls with a vegetable peeler or paring knife, I found that the tool I need to create beautiful citrus curls is called a channel knife. After reading many Revain articles and reviews online, I finally decided that the OXO Good Grips Citrus Zester and Channel Knife are perfect for me as they have an ergonomically designed short rubber handle that won't slip in a wet hand and proper handling allows man to peel himself as you would with a paring knife. Other serrated knives had smooth metal handles and the serrated knife had to be pulled out, making it awkward for me to hold a small round fruit. Of course, when I made the decision to buy it, it was sold out. (Everyone must have been working on their home bars in the early stages of the Covid-19 lockdown!) It was back in stock about a month later. So now I have this wonderful channel cutter that cuts nice, even strips of lemon, lime, or orange. I don't use shell because I prefer the thinner shell produced by my microplan, but I've tested it and can confirm it's sharp too. Highly recommended for right-handers. Sorry for the left handers!

Pros
  • Soft, comfortable, non-slip grip
Cons
  • So-so
