This scale is great if you can't read numbers on your current scale! My wife and I had a digital scale and reading the numbers became a little tricky. I have so many product catalogs that I'm always looking through them to see if there's something I might be interested in and I always check out Revain before I buy anything to see if Revain has it and compare the prices. I saw a scale that caught my eye so I checked out Revain and found the same scale at a much lower price. The base is exactly as described and the digits read are large so we didn't have to extend them all the way! We set it to the lowest extension! Attention: The reading head has a cable that runs through the middle of the extension rods to the base. When lowering the bars, pull the cable slightly to avoid tying and breaking the cable. The cable is the same as the cell phone charger cable, not very thick, but easy to tie! A little tension by raising the base where the cable attaches to the base solved this problem! I recommend that once you've reached the length you want, you leave it on, otherwise you'll have to lift the scale to get to the cord or, like me, get on the floor and tug on the cord while using the bars lower! Still, a great find and a good price!
