Review on Dell P2317H Professional LED Monitor - Wide Screen, HD, 60Hz, LED, LCD by Darren Morales

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great monitor for work, great price

We've been buying Dell monitors for years and overspending on them. Here you can get the same monitor and save $50-$80. I think the biggest difference is the warranty. But I've bought hundreds of monitors for various companies over 15 years and only a few required a warranty. I don't currently work for large companies like Exxon or NOV so my sample size is relatively small, but still. In my view, the cost savings outweighs any failure rate I've ever experienced, which is why I will continue to buy these through Revain. I used to only buy Dell's Ultrasharp range, but the Pro has come a long way. Most of my employees are in brightly lit public areas or offices, working on spreadsheets, word processing documents, web applications, and AutoCAD. The Pro line is great for all of these activities. Ultrasharp's claim to fame lies in its edge-to-edge screen, lack of bezel on the outside, and thinness and light weight. These things mean nothing in an office with fixed desks and workstations. The only downside I noticed is the lack of a DVI connector (usually a white cable). This affects older PCs and the Dell Latitude Port Replicator (docking station) which usually has a DVI, a VGA and a DP. This can be a big problem when all users have dual monitors, but I've gotten by with adapters that convert DVI to DP. Although all the small form factor PCs I've bought recently have two DP ports, they aren't affected in any way.
