The top is easy to remove and is very light.
Everything is fine, but I'm not sure I'll buy it again. It's VERY light, so if your child tries to use it to get up, they're likely to fall over. For the price I would have wished for a heavier weight. More importantly, if you pick it up from the top (which seems like the natural place for it), the rest will fall off! I did and it literally felt on our poor little fella. I'll probably glue it on for now, but please make sure the top doesn't come off easily in future versions. Apart from these two problems, everything is fine.
