This fan is expensive. Sometimes you get what you pay for! We have a small to medium sized irregularly shaped courtyard so the ceiling fan is not the central spot for all seating. My favorite spot and two guest spots weren't covered and we live in Houston so every spot needs to be covered! The cheap vertical fan we tried muffled the air but sounded like a propeller so I was fine but couldn't use it when we had guests. Tried to separate 2 separate fans but there were wires everywhere. Finally, they decided on a bullet and gave each other this fan for their anniversary. Too bad we didn't do that many years ago! Note that we had an issue with the first fan. But the manufacturer was great. It took a while but they took care of us and it was worth the wait. The nickel plating is awesome! Goes perfectly with our dark gray paint job! LOVE!
