We have a very nice gas hob with heavy cast iron parts supporting pots and pans over gas burners. There are large cast-iron grids to the left and right of the hob. Each "grill" includes two gas burners. A cast-iron lid is sandwiched between to vent excess heat from the oven below. That's the problem. While large "grills" are big enough and heavy enough not to wobble, they don't come with a little cast-iron lid in the middle. And it was very annoying. This is probably because I've gained weight during the pandemic, but whenever I walk past the stove, that center lid moves and makes the most annoying noise. And that led me to LavaLock. I needed some high temp black silicone to cover the small ridges that were going to act as feet on the cast iron lid. Wanted something "food safe" in case there were couples or something. So it has arrived. The tube has a spout that can be cut off to control the amount of glue that flows out. There is very little evaporation. I could do it in the kitchen at the table. Leave the cast iron lid on the counter for 24 hours to dry completely. Then she put it on the stove. The oven is currently at 350 degrees. I removed all the cast iron grids, took the center piece and felt for four small dots of LavaLock which I applied. They don't melt! They didn't even feel warm. And most importantly, the noisy rocking has stopped! Highly recommended.
