The cap is exactly the same as originally supplied with the tank. Quite expensive for a molded piece of plastic and the shipping cost is too high for what is being shipped. However, the hat arrived much quicker than expected. The cap doesn't come with an elastic band to keep it in place, but since the first one got lost due to a thin band, that's actually a plus. This time we drilled a small hole in the raised part of the lid and pulled a piece of nylon string through it to attach it to the aquarium. We now use a thick rubber band to hold the cap while it is screwed into the tank. Much better than the thin elastic cord and interchangeable. If the elastic breaks, the cap will still be held by the fishing line to keep it from falling off.
